Week One Report

Well after my first week, I lost 2.3 pounds. Not the big number I was looking for but at least we are going in the right direction. I have tried to put in some good workouts this week but the weather has not been very cooperative.

I plan on continuing my workouts at the gym next week. The holidays are making things a bit difficult with parties and all but if I can at least get the workouts in, I will be able to get through it.

My Own Biggest Looser Moment

Went to my Muscle Works class. It was 60 minutes of pure torture. What kept me going was I kept picturing Jillian from the Biggest Looser yelling at me to move my ass! At one point, I really thought I was going to puke which made my fantasy more realistic.

I walked out of there so exhausted, I wasn't sure I was going to make it to the car. I was soaked with sweat from head to toe. On a positive note, last night's workout was easier for me than the night before that. Progress?

On The Road Again

After a horrible week, I am finally back on board. Kristy and I along with several great friends. Rode 31 miles in the SBL Wilson 100 ride yesterday. This was, by far, the toughest ride for me yet. Gentle rolling hills? I don't think so. It was Kristy, Deena and Susan's first big ride and they all did great with the exception of Susan falling off her bike and banging up her knee.
Getting back on track is always tough for me. Once I get on there, I do fine; however, once I slip, It's really hard to start over. Why is that?

Stress Got The Best Of Me

Ok, yesterday was a bad day. I was so overwhelmed, I turned to food to calm me down.

I did fine at work trying to eat only low point snacks, but when I got home it was a whole other story. I walked in the door, put my stuff down and went to the frige. I grabbed a diet soda, popped it open and began to chug. When that didn't satisfy me, I went to the cupboard and grabbed the fat free Pringles and pulled out two handfulls. I sat there munching as I complained about my day.

Feeling a bit better, I went upstairs and changed clothes. By the time I got downstairs again I was still feeling munchy so I went and pulled out the hummus and celery out of the frige. At some point, I realized what I was doing and stopped myself. I put back the food and went and sat at my computer and played on the Internet.

Kristy made a great comfort food dinner of turkey Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, asparagus, salad and garlic bread (fat free) The meal was 18 points, but then desert came with a small bowl of sherbet. I went over my points for the day by 9. It would have been a lot better if I had cut out some of the snacks I had through out the day.

On the way to work this morning I stopped by the store and picked up 3 packs of sugar free gum. Lets see how today goes.

Almost To Reno

Fitness Journal
Started tracking my workout miles July 1 and so far I have gone 200.67 miles. Reno will be my first city I hit.

Last night, Kristy and I took Deena out for a ride with us. We rode on the Path to Rockyford and back and stopped by the Corner Pub for dinner and beer. I tried to eat the lowest calorie foods I could find; however, the beer made me go over my points. I got to quit drinking during the week. I hate it because I love a good beer. Got to make some tough choices.

After a rocky birthday weekend, I have manged to stay on track. I weighed myself this morning and it appears that I have stayed the same so far. Going riding this evening if the weather holds out. I haven't had much exercise since last weekend's 40 mile rides.

The Fever Is Spreading

Looks like the fever is spreading. Since I announced my new commitment, friends are starting to jump on board. My neighbor started Weight Watchers again and has been going strong for 3 days now. Just passed her on the road while walking Jack and Cooper.

I mentioned to a friend that I wanted to do a triathlon next year. Just found out she bought a bike and has made the commitment to do it with me. Look out world here we come!!!!

One Last Time

This is me 2 years ago in Maine at a weight of 258.8 pounds. Not a pretty picture.

Today, 2 years later, I weigh 228.6 pounds. I have lost a total of 30.2 pounds. It seems like I have been dieting all my life with nothing really to show for it.

Well that stops here. I am committed to getting this weight off and keeping it off.

Hopefully, this blog will be a great tool for me. Stay tuned for more details.
